Morning peeper
Our days at 122 Bruce View are coming to a close. So... what have we been up to these days?
Tasting new things.
Painting our new pad.
Sneaking backstage at an outdoor John Corbett concert...

1 X-ray, 1 nebulizer and 4 Rxs later...
Stephen likes to play with the nose suction bulb and my hand sanitizer...
Again, sorry my rate of posting in no way matches the name of this blog :-( Got some rather sad news. Poor lil Munch has been under the weather... Many of his adoring fans know that he's often congested, drippy, drooly and sometimes quite snotty. We all had been hoping these were signs of teething (as of yet, my 10-month-old hasn't a single pearly white). Yesterday, in addition to having the chronic congestion, Stephen was sluggish and whimpered a lot, so I scheduled a doctor's appointment for this morning. Stephen squirmed and flailed with all his might as the poor doctor struggled to listen to his breathing and check his ears and nose. Steve also gave the X-ray techs a hard time, then gave the nurse who took his oxygen count a piece of his mind. X-rays showed "oxygen pockets," his oxygen was 96, above the 90 cut-off for normal (which is good.) And Dr. Campbell could hear some rattling, but not wheezing. No ear infections.
Turns out my baby has got bronchitis, allergies and asthma. I guess that explains why his "cold" that he got 3 months ago hasn't gone away. I know this sounds a little twisted, but I'm almost relieved to learn he has SOMETHING, rather than hearing he's got a cold that should clear up in 10 days. Because 10 days stretches to 30 and 30 yawns into 90.
The not so pleasant part is that I left the doctor with 4 prescriptions and the nebulizer mask. I also learned Stephen should be 2 whole pounds heavier. He's in the 10th percentile for height, but off the curve for weight.
So please pray for my little guy... to learn to like his baby cereal again (he's been shunning it since he learned to pick up finger foods). To be healed of all respiratory maladies and to bounce back to his happy, hyper self.

Stephen and the peach
"Mine! All mine!"
This has happened twice... the first time I gave stephen a peach, I thought he would just lick it and then move on to bigger and better things. But he went ballistic for it... just trying to cram the entire fruit into his mouth. It was a little scary, so I took it from him and endure the tantrum that followed. That was a few days ago. This morning when I got up I found Joe had fallen into the same trap. THis peach was softer and juicier than the first peach. You can't tell from the photo, but some of Munchie's little fingers are sunken into the peach a quarter inch or so! Oddly, when I cut up little baby sized chunks of peach, he's not interested.

Fruit bat
Stephen got to eat fruit salad in his birthday suit (and diaper) yesterday morning.
This is the life, isn't it?

Chow hound
I just loved that he had a puff stuck to his cheek for most of this meal.
Not shown in photos, Stephen has become quite the omnivore. He's loving egg, French toast bits, teething biscuits, cantaloupe, STRAWBERRIES, peaches, carrots, green beans, sweet potato, chicken, salmon, cheerios... and probably a bunch of other things that I've forgotten.
Sorry, Mom, I'll try to be a better documentarian. Life has been hectic lately :-)

On the move... all the time!
When it gets really quiet in the house, then I have to wonder what my son is up to. Lately he's been zipping around... one moment beating the bongos with a honey wand, the next moment cruising over to the couch to grab CDs off our stereo shelf, the next moment giving the back door raspberries...the next crawling under his excer-saucer.
"I did it myself, Mama!"

Steve's new room
Please excuse my lack of editing these photos: Joe and I just bought a new-old house at 2803 South Virginia Street. We decided to put up new walls in teh three bedrooms, Stephen's new room included. Here's Jay and his cousin Johnny hard at work.
Jay has earned Stephen's friendship by teaching him some martial arts moves.
