Budding band

Stephen really enjoys playing with Emily and Evan Couchman. Emily got a new, groovy guitar for her birthday recently. Stephen likes to play any instruments and he especially liked playing with Emily on the couch. Evan provided percussion.

Great Grandma G's birthday

We celebrated Joe's grandma's birthday in Cleveland a couple of weekends ago. She was corondated "Queen for a Day" by her four children who gathered at Joe's folks house to celebrate. Though we live quite far from them, we want Stephen to know his "greats" as much as possible.

Sleep comedy

Just a funny story: The other night, I woke while it was still dark to the sound of Stephen laughing. He was shreiking, squealing and belly laughing hard. It went on for at least 10 minutes.

Stephen often talks in his sleep, so I assumed he wasn't awake. The next morning, I went to get him out of the crib.

Me: Stephen did you have a nice dream last night?
Stephen: Yeah.
Me: What did you dream about?
Stephen: Tickle!
Me: Hmm. I thought so. Who was tickling you?
Stephen: Stephen!

Two weekends ago we trekked down to Chicago to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday at a Swedish restaurant. Stephen had a blast feeding my dad... who was very brave to let him swing a fork at his face!

Muffinstuff

JOE: You do know this muffin man with his coordinated pajama-oven mitt outfit and crumb decorations. Emily left two muffins from the batch she made for the Couchman's yard sale on Saturday. There was supposed to be one for me and one for Stephen. Guess who scarfed both of them?
