A quiet moment with favorite things

Dinocats soccer practice

Stephen is in 3- and 4-year-old soccer this year through our YMCA. Joe and Brenden are coaching.

Rockam has a hard time staying on the sidelines.

I'm not exactly sure what's going on here. But I think they are being elephants.

Rock's many hats

Sure, Rockam wears many hats in that he's is a son and a brother, and will one day be a husband and father and all that... but I actually mean that Rockam has been wearing a lot of things on his head lately. Here's a sampling:

Snacktime

Stephen and Rockam have been having lots of fun playing outside in the 75 degree sunshine. When I finally coaxed them in with the promise of a snack, they both needed some washing up. I washed Rockam's pudgy hands first, then tackled Steve's. When I finished soaping Stephen up, I saw that Rockam had already climbed into Stephen's chair and was happily chowing on the chocolate goldfish I'd put out for Stephen. Before Stephen figured it out I swooped down and grabbed the bowl from Rockam and placed it at the other table setting. This was the scene that followed.

Yummy adventures in Chicagoland

After a windy walk around the elk enclosure, we took the boys across the street to a strip mall that has Jarosh's Bakery and Tensuke Market. Here Stephen eyes the butter cookie display at Jarosh's Bakery in Elk Grove Village.

He's got his eye on the one he wants.

And, fortunately for him, one of the bakery staff was already noticing his cute baby brother and offering each a free cookie sample!

Rockam enjoyed his cookie too.

Two little munchers.

"I'll feed you!"
