Look what came in the mail!

After a long morning of full bladder, ultrasound, glucose drinks and blood work... Along with discouraging news about said ultrasound and blood work results, I really needed a pick-me-up. And I got one:
My picture book proofs arrived!!!

Spider Steve

Stephen had been wearing his white crocheted astronaut helmet for most of his make believe play, but he had also been requesting a red mask for some time now. He wanted to be Spider Man, the Red Power Ranger and the red Angry Bird.... so here's my attempt at fulfilling all his red character fantasies.

Spring sprung ?

We've actually got a cold snap here today, but these photos were taken earlier in the week when the temperatures approached the 80s. Rockam likes to sit in his car.

And, for the first time since we've lived here, we've got a few tulips.

Mint is also coming back. And my personal favorite, wild violets are popping up all over the yard.

 



All I can do is sigh.

The boys and I enjoyed a wonderful Easter with Jack, Cris and cousin Zurielle. Our friends, the Campbell's joined us as well!

Saturday we made a trip out to Land Between the Lakes.

 Stephen in his element, teaching his preschool mascot, Gerald the Giraffe, how to make Transformers out of Lego Duplos. Stephen is getting pretty good at making interesting creations. They all have names and many of them are his interpretation of a particular toy that he wants.

 

 Stephen let Gerald sleep in.

 

And he worked hard to keep little brother away...
