Munchie was a trooper yesterday, tagging along with us as we went to look at five more houses yesterday! The above house is on Virginia Street, and we're leaning toward it because of its small town charm and price tag that would allow me to continue staying home with Stephen.

Sitting stinks!
Not sure why, but Munchie doesn't enjoy sitting. Whenever we prop him into the sitting position, tucking his legs just so, he either fusses or tilts immediately to the floor-- sometimes straight forward!
I know it's probably painful for some of you to see him in such distress-- but I love the little peanut mouth he makes.
Peek-a-boo
Stephen gets a rise out of a few versions of peek-a-boo these days: he likes when Joe hides behind a wall and then springs out, or when I toss his favorite blanket over his head, my head or both our heads, and when I crouch down and look at him through the bead arc of this activity center.

Picnic without food
It was in the 70s yesterday, so we made ourselves a little patio picnic. Munchie dined on hid butterfly teether and a water bottle. I read him the book of James and pointed out all the birds.
A bluebird pair was inspecting the nestbox, so Munchie got a great view of our little Kentucky wild kingdom. He was very alert, his head followed all the birds and bugs flying by.

Happy 7-months!
Stephen's happy, but his folks both have bags under their eyes because some little 7-month-old didn't want to sleep last night! Perhaps he's teething, but I still haven't seen any pearly whites.
Doing our best to look alert for the camera.
To celebrate, we'll probably eat pureed pears and go for a nice long walk, either at Jeffers Bend, the mall, or around the 'hood.

Budding birdwatcher
Though I see a scattering of snowflakes out the window as I write, the week began in the upper 70s. Monday was exceptionally family-friendly because Joe was able to get off work early. So we loaded up the Munchie, the snugli and the camera and headed to Jeffers Bend on the north side of town. It's no Cleveland Metroparks or Cook County Forest Preserve, but the wooded area near the water treatment facility has a twist of pea gravel trails, a lazy river and a bird viewing area, along with a complete absence of visitors, making it a great quiet getaway.
He was happy the whole time.
If you click on the bottom photo you can see in the enlarged version the little Eastern Towhee that Joe and Stephen are inspecting. The Towhee is inspecting his own reflection in the mirror coated window.

Exploring the backyard
When I saw Joe head out the back door with Munchie on his shoulders I just knew I had to snap some shots. Today was in the upper 60s and the sun came out around 4 p.m.
In case you're wondering, Munchie's graphic T reads "The world needs messy people" and has Pig Pen on the front... He's finally big enough to wear it-- thanks, Aunt Betsy!

Yummy ducky
If I don't give him the duck to chew, he snatches the washcloth out of my hand and dunks it into the tub before sucking all the soapy water out of it. And that's really gross so we don't let him do it.

New activity
Many thanks to Emily Chappelear for this fun activity center... where Stephen can expend some of his violent energy without damaging anything or anyone!
In other news, the kid LOVES pears. He devoured a whole container in one sitting this morning.
