Ollie on exhibit

On Friday, we took Oliver to the National Aviary, which had the best penguin exhibit I've ever seen.

Oliver was very interested in this African Penguin.

The penguin was equally intrigued by Ollie and inspected him for several minutes.

The other aviary-goers were all cooing at the cuteness of these two.

Pittsburgh mini vacation

Yesterday morning, Joe, Ollie and I took a trip to Pittsburgh to visit one of Joe's high school friends.

We met at the zoo... This was taken on the way out. Both Ollie and Rob's little girl Addison conked out.

20 months: untwists tiny caps on his own
19 months: likes brushing his own teeth
18.5 months: walking
18 months: has most of his teeth
11 months: likes to dance to music
11 months: pulls up from crawling and cruises
11 months: two teeth
10.5 months: army creeping
10 months: pulls up from sitting and cruises
7.5 months: likes rice, banana and sweet potato baby food if warm
7.5 months: can easily retrieve and replug paci
7 months: sits and plays happily
6.5 months: eating rice cereal begrugingly
6 months: rejects solids
4 months: laughing
3 months: pulls up from recline position

24 months: 2 - 3 hour nap at 11

24 months: speaks in 4-word sentences
23 months: paci only in bed
22 months: says "peese" and "denks"
20 months: loves going to Steve's preschool
18 months: runs after big brother
15 months: has vocabulary of about 5 words
13.5 months: forages for Steve's leftovers
13.5 months: climbs everything
13 months: enjoys having his 4 teeth brushed
12 months: walking
11 months: waves and claps on "command"
11 months: top two teeth coming in
10 months: cruising all over
10 months: two teeth
8 months: crawling
7 months: says "Mom, Mom, Mama!"
6 months: travels by rolling
5 months: sits on his own
4.25 months: can roll from back to side
4 months: 14 lbs, 50th percentile for weight and height
3 months: likes to stand with support
3 months: sleeps 6 to 7 hours at night
2 months: smiles and laughs
28 months: weaned from paci

6.5: able to read leveled readers
6.5 years: good at video games

5 years: likes to jump from heights taller than he is

4.5 years: uses DVD player on his own

3.5 years: first soccer team
3.5 years: dresses himself (with prompting)
37 months: Going to the potty of his own volition!!
36 months: Puts on his shoes
35 months: first sailing trip with Gramps
33 months: turns on faucet, opens front door
31 months: jumps off anything
28.5 months: says simple prayers
28 months: sleeping in toddler bed
25 months: can count to twelve!
24 months: learning to use potty
23 months: 14 teeth total
22 months: can get some food into his mouth with a spoon
22 months: can say names of most animals
21 months: became a jabberwalky
19 months: walks down stairs with railing
18 months: 7 front teeth, 4 molars
16 months: 6 front teeth, 3 molars
15.5 months: says "momma" and means it :-)
15 months: brushes his own teeth
14.5 months: has five teeth
14.5 months: refuses to let me brush his teeth :-(
14 months: drinking from straw
12 months: walking
8.25 months: creeping! And sleeping! (Until 6:45 this morning!!)
8 months: ate some puffs
7.5 months: sitting happily
7 months: going through mama phase
7 months: sitting unhappily
6 months: trying to drink from a cup
23 weeks: laughing at "Pattycake"
20-22 weeks: grabbing, banging, masticating, knocking over and generally destroying anything within arm's reach.
20 weeks: Beginning to fear strangers
19 weeks: saying "mmm-mmm-mama"
18 weeks: won't take pacifier
18 weeks: grabbing toes during diaper changes
17 weeks: ticklish tummy during diaper changes
17 weeks: squealing while petting a cat
17 weeks: fixating on dad's toothbrush
16 weeks: rolling from back to side
16 weeks: eating rice cereal
15 weeks: crumpling magazine pages
15 weeks: pulling kleenex out of the box
